UNLIKE ANY CLASS YOU’VE EVER TAKEN! Stephen Horst’s TIYA Acting the Song will teach you How to Trust Your Awareness and Play or TAP into your Artistry.

5 Students will be allowed each class. Each student must have a Dramatic song prepared, which will be guided to deeper Artistic levels. Each will be selected by audition only.

The Class in Detail:

WEEK 1—Introduction: Building an Awareness— Character Development and Background

Work one-on-one with Stephen developing and exploring concepts of Character, Background, Imagination, Specificity, Emotions, and Creativity.

WEEK 2—Color Mixing: Incorporate Emotional Depth and add Layers to your Performance

Work one-on-one with Stephen painting stories with your Character. He will help you find and choose your emotional Colors, Brushstrokes, and Signature.

WEEK 3—Private Vocal Lesson with Stephen.
Strengthen your Vocal Technique and Connection with your Character

WEEK 4—Body and the Instrument

Through Awareness find the Power of your Breath, Relaxation, the Inner Ear, and Imagination. The focus here is to "be in our bodies not our heads." Then Trust your Awareness and Play as Stephen guides you to sketch and paint your story while simultaneously learning how to work with (not against) the Accompanist.

WEEK 5—The Gallery

Each artist will perform in front of a small group of family and/or friends painting their story from a palette of Character, Background, Specificity, Imagination, emotional Color Mixing, Relaxation/Focus, and Awareness through Song. Trust your Awareness and Play--TAP INTO YOUR ARTISTRY TODAY.
